My Little Friend

Hi!  This little raccoon is special to us because it's been coming to see us for a couple of years now.
This was a rainy day, and you can see the raccette
(pronounced rac-ette, kind of like a tennis racquet, but slower with the accent on the ette)
is wet & hungry.  We know it's a girl because she's brought her cute babies around.

We live on the marsh which is part of the tidal creek which leads to the Intracoastal waterway created by the
Army Corps of Engineers. We have a great variety of wildlife in our backyard, so to speak.  There's a much
larger version on display at the Beaches Museum & History Center in Jacksonville Beach, Florida through Valentine's Day.

If you can't get there, check out my new & awesomely improved website:  www.pamelacasey.com
