Come See Me!
on the AC already. Time to hit the beaches to play in the waves & sleep in the sun. The water's
actually too cold for my taste, but the sun, surf & shell hunting are great.
This weekend I'll be at the Beaches Museum & Historic Center celebrating their founders' day.
It's the big yellow building with the train at Beach & A1A in Jax Beach. The featured show is
the Florida highwaymen. They paint coastal scenes in a mix of fantasy & reality.
They traditionally sold their paintings along the highways in Florida---thus the name.
You can be sure they wouldn't do that now--many of the paintings are collectible.
It's also a seafood festival. There will be lots of artists & vendors from 10 - 3.
