Meet Coop & Floop

Hi there! Here are two of the cutest babies I've seen in a long time.....Coop & Floop.
We hear owls at night, but rarely see them. The oak tree with the face last week made
me think of this tree with two faces. You can see the little "owlettes" in the vertical picture
if you look closely. They blend in so well, you'd miss them if you didn't know what to look for.
Of course, if you saw an adult owl flying back and forth to feed them repeatedly, you'd probably
wonder what was up & be delighted to see them. This shot was taken about 10am.
I was surprised to see them out in broad daylight. We saw an adult fly by in the distance
& it called to them. They were really in no danger because they were at least 25 feet in the
air. I only got to see them because my BFF took me to see them at this friend's house.
I believe they are screech owls. They're just so fluffy & pet-able looking. The one on the left
dubbed Coop, seemed to be very alert and its little head followed us as we moved around
to take different shots. Floop, on the other hand, seemed kinda peak-ed (not feeling too well
in southern talk). He wasn't very animated. Okay, only their heads turned, so neither were
extremely animated, but Floop was definitely moving less.
Wonder if Coop has been hogging the food. (Can an owl be a hog?)
Anyway, we hope they both lead long fulfilling lives in the forest & make more cute, little, fluffy
pet-able looking screech owls babies.
Blessings!

As it turns out, you photographed these two cuties just in the nick of time as they (Coop and Floop)made a dash for it the very next day. Never to be seen again. Floop was looking a bit pensive, possibly waxing nostalgic about leaving home? We'll look forward to the return of the owlettes....same time, same place next year. Good work, Pamela, makes you want to say awwwwww.
Your BFF...
