Memorial Day 2009

Hi---Finally got a break today, Memorial Day, from a week's constant rain. (How did Noah do it
for 40 days????!)

We watched the 20th Annual Memorial Day Concert on PBS.  It takes place on the lawn opposite the
Capital Building in Washington, DC.  It was an excellent Celebration of America in music, drama & visuals.
They spotlighted some vets, including  a young Sargent named of Jose. What a beautiful example of a
family pulling together, despite his terrible injury in Iraq.

They did an great job of expressing appreciation for our military and their families.  They have given so much for
our freedom here in the USA as well as in other countries, so they can remain free.

I thank God for all the American veterans and all the sacrifices they have made.  I wish there were more
programs encouraging us all to be more patriotic.  My contribution will be my artwork.  It was originally a
photograph of Old Glory, but has pastel added to it to make the flag more dimensional.

May God Continue to Bless America!
