For the Love of Chrome

Hi there---
I'm changing over to a new MAc Pro from one that's about 5 years old.  Now that they're
Intell, you can't just keep upgrading the older version :(.   I guess that's the nature of technology--
if you want to keep up, you gotta shell out the bucks...  But as I try to transition I am looking
through my 6 (external) hard drives, and I came across some old cars.

This is from the annual GOOD GUYS event held in Jacksonville every spring.  There are some absolutely
FABULOUS, beautiful, pristine VINTAGE CARS there.  Some are for sale.  Many compete to win prizes of all kinds.
We went on Sunday, so some of the other cars had left, but there was plenty of DAZZLING CHROME
to go around.

These two pix are from the same car---I thing (& hope) it's a Pontiac.  At first I thought it would be Mercury,
but now I'm thinking INDIAN CHIEF.   I didn't realize that hood ornaments came in lots of different
brands---even FORD.  Speak up if you know what model it is.  Anyway, it's an event I highly recommend
for photogs whenever it comes to your city or town.

PHOTIP:  On a sunny day chrome can be hard to shoot because it's sooooo reflective and you get
way too many blown out highlights.  You can see that a little bit of the car headlight illustrates this
problem.  Remember to try to meter on a midtone (a grey).

Better yet,  look for one of these great looking vintage cars sitting in the SHADE.

Blessings!
