A little Fishing

Hi there!
Hope you are doing well this week & the flu isn't threatening you at work or play. I work at a school
part time teaching photography & there is definitely some flu (& flu paranoia) going around.
In more pleasant thoughts--I found a picture from my trip to Edisto Beach, South Carolina that
I wanted to share. We were visiting at the beginning of August & our condo was on a golf course.
One morning we got up and there were two small alligators lounging by the water hazard.
Two other mornings there were huge numbers of great herons, some egrets, a couple of storks &
of course your token seagulls.
It was really an amazing sight. For at least an hour the birds would surround the water and take
turns fishing. They almost always caught something! You can see this great has just flown over
the water and plucked out a fish for breakfast. I didn't even know they fished that way. I've just seen
them standing in the marsh, stalking the fish quietly until the swift strike of the beak spears a fish.
A couple of the birds did that, but the vast majority flew in to grab their fish. I hope you can see
the fish where I cropped in tighter. It's in the bill, sideways. The fish is curved, and there is a
trail of water drops just above the ©.
PHOTIP: When you come across something amazing, start shooting like crazy. You may have to
throw away some of the images later, but you're bound to come out with some great ones.
Blessings!
