Heart Art you can feel

Hi!
You're invited to two art show this month.  The St. Augustine Art Association in their building in
St. Aug on Marine St & the Jacksonville Coalition for the Visual Arts exhibit at Gallery L
in the Modis Building---a huge (literally) part of the downtown skyline.
Both run through the end of the month. My photography is in the JCVA show.

There is a special school there, the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind.  This show is one they
can enjoy because you can feel the work.  All pieces submitted are to be touched---a TACTILE SHOW.

We went to the opening on Sunday (& there is also a very good photography show) and
there was a wide variety of work: cloth, weaving, yarn, glass beads, clay, ceramics, felt, paper mache,
tree trunks, a broom and probably some others I'm missing.  It was great to be able to touch the artwork!
(But somehow you still felt a little guilty doing something normally forbidden.)

I used to enjoy basket weaving & a free form heart was on the wall in my office.  I thought it would be
perfect, because it's "organic" and lots of textures from nature.  It has round reed splints on a grapevine form
with dyed flat reed, seagrass and the sheath from a gigantic split leaf philodendron weaving in and out
of the framework.

I did have this great idea to glue things onto a photo to create texture, but didn't get it done.  Maybe next year...
Blessings!
