Art Lovers of Jacksonville come forth
Hi---What fantastic weather we're having!!!! It's almost like San Diego-----nice and cool in the evening
when you eat dinner and then you can sleep with the windows open and wake up to the nice coolness of the
morning----AAAHHHHH....fall. Low's in the 50s and right now at noon, it's only 65ยบ because of a great breeze.
And to go along with the beautiful weather, the Jaguars actually played a great game against the Colts
and beat them in a last second super long field goal. Scobee is the man!

I wanted to invite on the Jacksonville art lovers to the Downtown Artwalk tonight. There are about 20
venues with all types of artists showing, selling & performing all over the city. The Jacksonville
Coalition of Visual Artists has a show opening at Gallery L located in the Modis Building. The Modis
building is a major icon in Jville. It's at the foot of the Main Street bridge which really is blue.
It's kinda cool because the gallery is on the second floor hanging out over the atrium in space.
These are two of my works in the show and one got an Honorable Mention. Can you guess which one...???

There will be complementary or d'oeuvres, wine and soft drinks along with lots of artists. 6:30 - 8:30 pm
The group also gives awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd & Honorable Mentions along with a check & a ribbon for each.
In fact we have one member who makes an income from all the awards he gets! Richard Lungren does
absolutely fabulous pastels, so you can't really blame the judges for choosing his work.
JCVA is a really nice group of artists. The yearly fees are small ($25) and so are the jury fees ($5 per piece).
We have four shows per year, at four different venues. We always welcome new members and we're
having a social in Ponte Vedra on October 30th. Check out our website for more information at: JCVA
(Just click on the letters.) You can see the member's work & get listed on the site, too.
PHOTO TIP: It's important to create what you like with your photography. I really enjoy my images into
what I call "Photo Impressions." I start with my own work and seek to make it more painterly using my
computer. Sometimes I use pastels----but in that case I would call it mixed media. You need to be happy
with the end result. You may be on the verge of creating something fantastic---don't give up!
Blessings!
