A Digital Impressionist?

Hello!  I hope your world is as beautiful as mine....the beach & the blue sky...what could be finer?
Jags had a great week - they were off.  Hopefully, they will do well again this week.

I want to invite you to a solo show at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library on A1A.  My work adorns the long entrance
wall and you can visit whenever the library is open 10am - 8 pm, Monday - Saturday through November 30th.

The exhibit features part of my collection of images taken on an artist trip to Portugal with painter Charles
Gruppe.  We stayed in a small town named Estoril, just a 30 minute train ride into Lisbon.  We visited the quaint
walled
city of Obidos, the small fishing village of Sesimbra, Lisboa, the National Palace, a Moorish Castle,
Cascais's marina, a former monastery, and the westernmost point of Europe: Cabo da Roca.  You could do
whatever you chose to do & there was usually someone willing to go with you. Portugal was truly a visual vacation!

I've shown many of the photographs I took there, but early in this summer I worked on them digitally to create
a more painterly effect and mood.  This was using a variety of digital tools.  I love the softness of the
Impressionists.  It's kind of the opposite of the precise detail you find in a photograph.

PHOTO TIPNot all subjects make good "paintings."  Take a cue from your favorite artists and look for
a similar subject to photography.  Then experiment with Photoshop effects and various plug ins.  Sometimes
the best result is created by using two layers with different opacity.  What you see is part of each image.

BLESSINGS!
