Just Beachy !

GREETINGS! It's that time of year again...gather up the kids, sunscreen, towels,
goggles, flip flops, beach bag, beach chairs, ice chest, drinks, snacks, buckets, boogie boards,
a book, bags for shells----you get the idea---it takes a while to get all that ready & loaded
up for that "quick trip" to the beach just a 5 minute drive away.
Then you spend the next 20 minutes looking for a parking space---and when everyone is
grouchy
and you are ready to cancel the whole thing--you get out, unload all the stuff,
assign who is carrying what and haul everything to an empty spot on the blazing hot sand.
Ah, summer time
!  (For us in Florida, it's already here---sorry, Yankees.)

Besides the sunbathers on the beach, last weekend was Vineyard ocean baptisms
Unfortunately, it took me so long to park & walk the 5 miles back to the location I missed
most of the dipping.
The water was very calm, so I didn't get the dramatic splashes
that look so cool.  But I decided to play around with the images.  This is using a Topaz filter,
so it almost looks like a drawing.  It automatically brightens up the colors, but the sky
looks a little bit funky, so I would change that.

I took a different image into Photo Shop Elements 9 and tried their "Impressionist Brush"
found with the Smart brushes.  That looked really bad, as you can see below.  Very mushy.
A great way to obliterate detail.  I'm sure it's useful for something...

There was a trick I liked in the Guided edit menu under automated:  snapshot.
It crops a square from the middle of the image & adds a white surround like a little
Polaroid instant printMight be cute to email with a note on the bottom.
Just make sure the most important part of your image is in
the middle.

PHOTOTIP:  Take the time to play around with the software you own to see what it can do for
an image. Most companies have 30 day free trials you can download.  Some are fully functional,
some aren't.  I recommend you check out Topaz Labs.

BLESSINGS!
