Beautiful Easter Sunrise on the Ocean

GREETINGS!  I hope you had a special Easter celebration & enjoyed time with your
family.  We got up REALLY, REALLY EARLY to attend a sunrise service on the beach in
Ponte Vedra.  It was dark driving down, but a bit of light was just starting to come from
the dawn sky over the Atlantic Ocean.

Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church served Starbuck's coffee & hundreds of donut holes
as you were heading for the boardwalk to the beach.  Give them extra kisses for getting
up & out even earlier!   This was BYO seating, but hundreds of people come to sit on
the sand facing the misty waves which were gently rolling in.

After great music from the worship team, Doug McCary performed a drama as the man
hired to make the cross for Jesus' crucifixion.  He spoke as he swung his axe to hack
out one pole so the could be fitted into it.  Chips of wood were flying--great visuals.
Afterwords, he attached the cross bar and picked it up.

Doug shared his very powerful personal story as a military pilot who was paralyzed from
the waist up when a large bird crashed into the cockpit & hit him in the chest mid-air.
His life was forever changed.  Now he does this as part of Men of the Cross.

At the end Doug hammered some nails into the cross & invited people to write on a piece
of paper anything that prevented them from committing fully to God.  Then to impale it.
Last of all there was prayer for any who desired it.  A sunrise service by the water is great
any day, but especially on Easter.

PHOTOTIP:
When you have strong light like the sun coming toward you, it's a great time
to think of creating some interesting silhouettes.  (See the picture of the prayers.)
Meter on the bright part close to your subject and your people will go dark & become shapes.

BLESSINGS!
