Reunion By the Sea

GREETINGS!  Just got back from a trip across and down our state to lovely Treasure Island.  It was very windy down there.  So windy that they actually had WAVES---and a couple of surfers---quite a shocker for the very tame Gulf water near St. Pete, Florida!

We went for my husband's HS Reunion.  They rented a beach house and threw a great party that began on Thursday night.  That's was nice because 8 people stayed in the house, so you knew you could drop by any time to visit or help out.

Here are a couple of shots of the normally docile surf.  You just don't see anything but seagulls on
our beaches.  I was surprised to herons fishing right in the surf.  Maybe the Atlantic Ocean is just too rough for them.  These shots are from John's Pass.

This is Sunset Beach on Treasure Island, right in back of the party house.  The Reunion committee went all out with sparkling beads in the school colors, laminated official name tags, home made barbeque, smoked mullet, fried catfish, grilled king fish, a fire pit, munchies, a cd of pix and a spiral bound book with pix of almost everyone as a Senior (now) and in high school.  The 1960's hairstyles were especially interesting.   Several of the guys visited memory lane with their 82 year old coach.  (He remembered everything!)

Even though this HS Reunion cost less and got more for their money--I'd have to say my Reunion was more fun, better looking alumni (well, we are younger), more hugs & more old friends. But they did make the same great re-connections we did....and that's the best part.  (see June blog)

PHOTOTIP:  When accompanying your spouse to a Reunion, check ahead of time into what's available locally to photograph.  I enjoyed walking the beach because it was different from the one I live near.  I was also able to visit a glass blowing studio for some unique pix.

BLESSINGS!
