Today, I'm sharing with you a momentous occasion that occurred this week.....namely, my husband and I celebrated our anniversary. Not just any old anniversary, but our 35th! Here's a picture from that day as my new brother-in-law, Jay, proposed a toast at our wedding reception.

The room was Caesar's, and was filled with red and purple velvet upholstery. But, it was the only place where you could look down upon the white, sparkling sand and emerald sea of the Gulf Coast of Florida. The actual wedding was on the beach at "sunrise" (but you know we're not really morning people...I admit, I was a little late) on the beach at Destin, Florida. The closest hotel with a view way back then was in Fort Walton Beach.

We wanted everyone to have a glass of champagne, but my parents refused to fund alcoholic beverages, so we paid the tab ourselves. It was a small wedding, so we might have felt differently about supplying it for 150 people.

This year, we just had a leisurely day walking around St. Augustine.....of course, that was after our puppy, Bella, reached up onto the nightstand, grabbed Terry's hearing aide and destroyed the plastic part. Thankfully, he was able to get a new replacement part right away. (Wow, that makes us sound really old, doesn't it?)

We found this nice courtyard near St. George Street, the main shopping & eating strip. It was nice, especially with the fountain, shade & a cold coke. Apparently, it had been there for 8 years! We at lunch at the Columbia Restaurant. The home of some excellent Cuban Cuisine. A nice tourist offered to take our picture.

PHOTOTIP: When you're on vacation, try to take a photo that shows something besides you in front of __________ (fill in with the Great Pyramid, Eiffel Tower, ocean, polar bear, etc). I hate those pix. Be in the photo if you must, but don't be the main attraction. Move over to the side, or have a picture of you looking at the big attraction for a change.

BLESSINGS!
Proverbs 31:10-31
Home Page
SharkTooth Gallery
email:
